Underbool Progress Group

Members of the UPG will be meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Mallee Track Health & Community Services, Lois O’Callaghan on the 8th February.  We would like to have some community input as to what questions and issues need to be raised with Lois.  If you have any questions, concerns or issues you would like us to discuss, please contact Fran Lynch on 0409509463 or email fran_lynch@bigpond.com

Thank you to everyone who attended Christmas Eve in the Park and the Australia Day Evening. Our thanks to Sue Gilchrist and Simon Clemence for their interesting and informative speeches.

Both events were well attended and supported by the community.

PINK LAKES PANTRY

The Underbool Shop Committee will open a temporary shop in the old butcher shop, with thanks to the generosity of Ashley & Tracie Corbett, from 9am-12noon, Mon-Fri in February (Date TBA).

This will offer the essentials of milk, bread, papers and drinks, with hopefully more to follow. Obviously this venture must be supported by locals to ensure its feasibility, if we are to continue looking into a more long term solution.

All bread and papers will need to be ordered. This commitment means customers are liable to pay for their orders whether collected or not. No extra bread/papers will be available to purchase.

Cash only basis, no accounts.

Bread will be delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Pinnaroo Bakery. Please see order form.

Papers can be ordered Mon-Fri and Weekends, including subscriptions. When ordering please indicate the status of any subscriptions (if receiving, where from etc).

Milk will be delivered as needed.

Please contact Pennie Wisneske 0437256367, or Kristen Brown 0407712699 ASAP to get your orders in.

The committee and volunteers will endeavour to do our best for the community, and we appreciate your understanding and support.

MILDURA RURAL CITY COUNCIL 2017 – 2021 COUNCIL PLAN

Mildura Rural City Council is now developing its 2017 – 2021 Council Plan, a vital strategic document that will guide the organisation’s future direction and the services we provide for the next four years.

This is a process that takes place every four years following the election of a new Council and looks at everything from community safety, land use, and health and well-being to our economy, roads and the many services Council provides.

As part of the plan’s development, Council conducts a comprehensive consultation process to ensure the community has input into the plan.

This will be done this year through an online survey and a series of drop-in sessions across the district, which will allow residents to speak one-on-one with senior Council staff and Councillors.

The online survey can be accessed here: www.surveymonkey.com/r/FGJVNTT

Senior Managers will be in Underbool on Wednesday 15th February 11.30am – 1pm at the Underbool Post Office. Stop in for a chat.

Hard copies of the survey will also be available at kiosks and at the drop-in sessions (which will be located at community sites), Council Service Centres and other Council facilities, such as libraries. People can also contact our Service Centre and request a copy of the survey.

The consultation period will run through to 6 March this year. The feedback will then be collated and presented to Councillors ahead of a draft plan being presented.

For further information about the Council Plan and the consultation process please Council’s website at www.mildura.vic.gov.au or call Council’s Service Centre on (03) 5018 8100
