The Underbool Pool Committee wish to advise of a working bee on Monday October the 30th at 5:30pm. Please come along to help out to tidy up in preparation for our anticipated opening day of November the 1st.

Underbool Swimming Pool Memberships

As the Underbool Swimming Pool will be opening on 1st November, weather permitting, season memberships can now be paid.

Family Season Membership: $65

Adult Season Membership: $35

Child/Student/Pensioner Season Membership: $30

Payment for season memberships can be made via direct deposit, cheque or cash.

Swimming Program 2017
Swimming lessons will begin on Monday 6th November 2017 at the Underbool Pool. These are open to children that will be at school in 2018.

The Program will be run by Maureen and Joy, who will be working together as a team this season.

Joy will be responsible for the younger children learning basic swimming skills and water safety.

Maureen will be responsible for stroke technique, development and training (as in previous seasons).

Lessons will run for 6 weeks with an upfront fee of $60.

Junior Tennis

Will be starting Thursday 26th October and will run to Thursday 14th December, weather permitting. 4.30pm to 5.30pm.  There will be a break for xmas and will continue once school goes back. (dates to be confirmed). Cost is $2 per child per week. Bring your racquet, hat, water bottle and sunscreen.

 

Tennis Coaching in Underbool

Tennis coaching will be held in Underbool on Sunday 3rd of December from 9-11am.

Josh Gregg along with 2 or 3 other coaches will provide lessons for 5 to 16 year olds.

$25 per student.

Joy will be in Underbool on Mondays and Thursdays

Nurse Practitioner, Di Thornton, will be in Underbool on Thursdays.

Appointments can be made either via the online booking on the website www.malleeborderhealth.com.au  or via mobile number 0419 889 394. Please leave a message for Di as she won’t answer the phone whilst seeing clients.

Anyone who has a Medicare card is eligible to see the nurse practitioner.  Cost is bulk billed with a gap of $25 for those who are not a pensioner, HCC or under 16.

 

Underbool Bowls Club News

There has been much excitement in the Club of late with the baton being passed on to a new Ladies Singles Champion, when Colleen Gloster took out the honours of winning in a very competitive match with Runner/up Marie Cummings. Congratulations Colleen. More excitement on Wednesday 18th October at Workers Ladies Star Day, when Marie Cummings, Jeni Boseley, Jennifer Wakefield and Wendy Stone won the day’s play. Well done ladies!

Saturday October 21st Social Bowls at home was won Colleen Gloster, Jennifer Wakefield, Bernadette Stone and Jack Winslow.

Underbool Triples Star Day was held on Sunday 22nd October in cool conditions with a great turn up of bowlers from district Clubs. Twenty two teams of players from Euston, Ouyen, Merbein, Nangiloc, Irymple, Hopetoun, Donald and Underbool enjoyed a great day of bowling fellowship as well as appreciating the excellent provision of meals throughout the day. Many thanks to all who helped in any way with the catering.

Main Sponsor of the day was Crowe Horwath. There were three, 3 game winners, but on points, outright winners were from Workers Club, Ian Pollock, Brian Horton and Mick Legin snr. on 83 ½ points.

Runners/Up from Nangiloc Club, Allan Erskine, Shane Moore and Mick Chopping on 81 points.

Third winners from Hopetoun Club, Daryl Burdett, Bernie Ballinger and Terry Landrigan on 79 points.

Major draw for the day (a large esky) was donated by Caterpillar (Warwick Gloster) and won by Barry Dean of Ouyen.

Other Sponsors for lucky draws were Burson’s Mildura, Caterpillar, Dan Murphy and First Choice. Underbool Bowls Club appreciates all the generous sponsorship which made for a very successful Star Day.
