Mallee Track Health & Community Service

Centre Hours: From the week commencing Sept 5th, the Underbool Centre will only be open Monday’s and Thursday’s for the month of September. This is to allow me to cover at Murrayville during Joy Brown’s leave. Centre hours will remain 9 till 3.30pm on these days.

Podiatrist: Visits by the Podiatrist have changed to 6 weekly visits. The next scheduled visit is September 20th. Half day visits have been scheduled for in between the 6 week visits if needed. Please ring Ouyen Hospital on 50921111 to make appointments and check on visit dates.

Pathology Collection: From next Monday August 15th, the cost of pathology freight to Ouyen will increase from $2 to $4 per person. Pathology is collected on any day the Centre is open.

RFDS Optometry Clinic: The next RFDS Clinic to be held in Underbool will be Thursday September 15th. Appointments to be made by ringing MTH&CS on 5092 1111.

Continence Clinic This is a new service to Ouyen and surrounding districts. A Continence Nurse from Sunraysia Community Health Service will visit Ouyen once a month. Appointments are open to all members of the Community that fall into the Frail Aged & Disabled (HACC) Funding. If you have any issues with urine &/or faecal incontinence that you would like more information on how to manage or treat, or where to purchase continence aids etc, then this service is for you. For more information please contact me or to make appointments please ring Ouyen hospital on 5092 1111 to make a booking.

Underbool Primary School

Rotating Dinner. The School is very excited to announce that we will be holding a rotating dinner on Friday the 30th of September.  We hope to begin the evening with entrée at Walpeup and conclude in Underbool.  If you would like to attend contact Pennie on 0437256367 or Kristen on 0407712699.  Cost is $20 per person.

 Thermomix Raffle The School’s Thermomix raffle will be drawn on Friday the 16th of September.  If you would like to purchase a ticket before it’s too late, please see a school parent or contact the school on 50946342.  Tickets are $10 each.

Golf Notes

Our Club Closing and Windup night will be the following Sunday the 4th Sept (Father’s Day).  12 o’clock hit off, Ambrose, BBQ Tea, please bring a salad to share.  All welcome.  Could all golfing ladies please bring a $10 wrapped gift to be used for the nights presentations.   Thankyou.

 Bowls Opening Evening will be held next Thursday the 8th of September names in by 5.00 p.m. with the intent to have the opening and a game of bowls starting at 5.30. This will be for the traditional Pole & Winslow Trophies and BBQ tea. Due to the Football/Netball finals we are finding it difficult to launch the new bowls season, so this is why we are trying Thursday evening. Any New or intending Bowlers come and enjoy a social evening you will be made most welcome.

Underbool Bowls Notes. Bowls is up and running for the 2016/2017 Season. Already the men have commenced Saturday Pennant. Robert Gloster, Howard Crothers, Col Lockett and Bob Lester have visited Nangiloc for their Star Day and came in runners/up. Congratulations.

President Robert Gloster and Colleen attended the Opening of the Sunraysia Bowls Association at Workers, which was also Workers 80th Birthday celebration.

Robert and Colleen also visited Doreen Walker prior to her leaving the district and presented her with a gift on behalf of all at Underbool Bowls. Doreen has been a wonderful bowler competing and winning in many Singles, Pairs and Fours Club Championships. We all wish Doreen well as she moves to be nearer family.

Sadly for Underbool Lady Bowlers there is no Midweek Pennant this year due to lack of numbers for First Division.

Please note. Bowls Opening Evening will be Thursday 8th September at 5pm.

Short game of Bowls followed by a BBQ Tea. Pole/ Winslow Trophies. New bowlers most welcome, or just come over to watch and join us for the evening.

 

Invitation

The congregation of the co-operative church in Underbool, wish to extend an invitation to all to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Anglican Church of Christ the Worker. The thanksgiving service will be held on the 2nd of Oct at 10.30 am.  A lunch will be held following the service.
Bishop Andrew Curnow will be attending from Bendigo.  We welcome all people, past attendees and present to come along to share in this momentous occasion.

 

Underbool Hardcourt Tennis Club AGM  will be held on Wednesday 7th September 7.30pm at the Underbool rec ground pavilion. Could all interested players please attend.

Underbool Senior Citizens Club:

Underbool senior citizens club ANNUAL MEETING will be held on Friday September 2nd at 1.30pm. Election of office bearers etc hope to see new members come along to join in for a social afternoon. A decision will have to be discussed whether to continue with the club. New members are urgently needed.
