President of Underbool Progress Group, Joan Willsmore began proceedings welcoming guests.

With the temperature soaring towards 41oC, speakers Sonia McVicar, Jason Modica, Ann Webster and Joan all spoke briefly commenting on the importance of remembering those who served and sacrificed for their country and for us, the many hours of volunteer research and planning to bring this project to fruition as well as some of the history of the project. Mrs Fran Lynch's work on this project was acknowledged with sincere thanks.

 After the short presentations at Outen Park gates, everyone moved across the road to the Underbool Linga Memorial Hall, where the service continued.
