ANZAC day 2023 at Underbool

At 6.20am, marchers set off along Monash Ave from the primary school led by 5 students carrying the letters A N Z A C arriving at Outen Park gates for the dawn service to begin.

Joan Willsmore, Pres. of Underbool Progress Group welcomed all to the service. Frankie Gloster read Flanders Field poem, Fran Lynch spoke about the WW1 history project which resulted in two new pillars added to the original ones at Outen Park to acknowledge those from our district who took part in WW1.  Izzy Nicholl and Isobel McVicar shared another poem.

Wreaths were laid at the gates, the Ode was repeated, the bugle call sounded the last post and after a minute's silence, the Reville and the national anthem was sung.

Following the service, a BBQ breakfast [thanks Daniel] was enjoyed together with hot drinks made by Spiilt Milk
[thanks Lee]. Thanks to the Underbool Progress Association committee for organising and to community members for participating in this service.
