Underbool Bowls Notes
Lots of activity in Bowls at the present time. Those attending the prestigious Powder Puff Day at Wentworth on Friday 13th March were Jennifer Wakefield, Jen Stone, Anne Stone and Raelene Winslow.
Whilst the following day Saturday 14th March, Robert Gloster, Col Lockett, Howard Crothers and Alan Crook from Ouyen Club played in the Irymple Trilogy Star Day.
It is the 50th year Anniversary of the Bendigo Country Week Bowls Tournament this week. Those travelling to participate from Underbool are Robert Gloster, Howard Crothers, Col Lockett, Steve Simmonds, Alan Stone, Robert Lester, Ken Byrne (ex Underbool). Also playing will be veteran 92 year old Ray Gloster attending for the 49thtime! A great achievement Ray.
The annual McKay Day when Sunraysia ladies versus Riverland ladies is at Loxton this year, Wednesday March 18th. Underbool ladies representatives will be Marie Cummings, Colleen Gloster, Jennifer Wakefield and Wendy Stone. Have a great day ladies.
And for those who played Social bowls at home on Saturday 14th. March, the winners were Marie Cummings, Jennifer Wakefield and Murray Lockett.
A day to look forward to for the whole Club will be next Saturday 21st March when Ouyen has invited Underbool to join them for a Social Day of bowls. Please let President Robert Gloster know if you can go as transport is being arranged.
