ANZAC Commemorative March and Service

Due to a delay by contractors to the planned works to the Memorial Entry of Outen Park we have had to make some changes the previously advertised format for this year Commemorative Service.  This years’ service will be conducted on Thursday 25th April. It will still include a march along Monash Ave, readings and the laying of wreaths.

To join in the Commemorative March and Service, assemble at 6:40am at the top of the school oval on Monash Ave. March to begin at 6.50am along Monash Ave to the Outen Park Memorial Gates. The Service at the gates will commence at 7am.  Afterwards at the hall refreshments of tea, coffee, Milo and Anzac biscuits will be available. Underbool Bowls News

The Green may be closed at Underbool but there is still much bowling going on around and about.

Marie Cummings(s) Bernadette Stone, Raelene Winslow and Jennifer Wakefield enjoyed their day bowling at Wentworth Powder Puff Day on Friday 8th March.

The Club is justly proud of the Ladies Championship Fours team making it through to the Grand Final at Euston on Friday 15th March. And there was much jubilation and celebration when the team of Bernadette Stone (s) Jen Stone, Noelene Crow and Jennifer Wakefield came through to win by 1 point against the Ouyen team, 16/15. Congratulations ladies.

Sunraysia played host to the Riverland in the Annual Ladies McKay Day, this year held at Red Cliffs, Tuesday 19th March. The team from Underbool, Marie Cummings (s) Bernadette Stone, Jennifer Wakefield and Noelene Crow, were among the 88 ladies who had a great day on the Green. This year Riverland took home the Shield, defeating Sunraysia 230/181.

And for the Men’s side of the Club, many travelled this week to the Annual Country Week Bowls Tournament at Bendigo. Howard Crothers, Alan Stone, Steve Simmonds, Col Lockett, Robert Lester, Ken Byrne and Ray Gloster, who attended for the 48th time!

Ladies Championship Pairs at Ouyen, March 21st and 22nd. Jennifer Wakefield and Merle Pole (bowling as sub for Anne Stone), were unfortunately defeated by Red Cliffs in the first round.

 

Underbool Primary School Fund Raiser

The Underbool Primary School in conjunction with the Pinnaroo Bakery is offering the opportunity to order bakery items in time for sowing.  Delivery date will be Friday 10th May.  Orders will need to be submitted by Wednesday 1st May.
