Mallee garden club

Mallee garden club will be held on Monday 1st August 2016 at 1.30pm. There will be no General meeting but garden club members and visitors are asked to meet at Lorraine and Harry Shaddocks home; Ritchie street Ouyen at 1.30pm. Lorraine will be giving a tour of their garden and all the things she has done in the last 12 months. After this the members and visitors will be visiting Bernie and Sue Kelly’s home to see Kulkyne Bird Aviary and their lovely garden.

A stall and afternoon tea (at Kelly’s home) will follow after all the visiting (any items for the stall would be appreciated) and small plate of food. A newsletter will be given to all members and visitors for the up and coming events for the months of September and October. President Sue Gilchrist has drawn up a Garden Club newsletter with her helpers; Bev Bingley, Janis Lonergan, Cheryl Anderson and Mary Grace. Sue has given advice what can be done in the garden for the next few months such a pruning roses, fruit trees etc, plants to plant. These will be helpful to the gardeners. (Hopefully you may see Ad. On facebook). Many thanks to these band of committee members who have given their time to Mallee Garden Club. Hope to see a lovely crowd come along for an enjoyable afternoon. Remember: Time 1.30pm.

Underbool Ladies Sports Auxiliary.

We have been approached to cater for a grain corp. dinner for 100 people on the 17th August, 2016 at the Underbool Recreation Reserve. Our executive committee thought this may be a great opportunity to inject some funds into our community.

This would involve preparing and serving a 3 course meal. At this stage the menu will be:

Entrée: seafood Vol au vent / Satay Chicken & rice.

Main: Slow cooked Lamb and seasonal vegetables.

Desert: Individual chocolate puddings with dark chocolate sauce and thickened cream.

Cheese platter.

So we are calling on our wonderful community to offer a hand. We will need donations of food, cooks, kitchen hands and waitresses. Please contact Pennie Wisneske on 0437256367 or Melinda Lynch if you are able to help out in any way.
